A case was registered against Jagdish Prathap Bandari at the Panjagutta police station. Jagdish is an actor who played a supporting role in the movie ‘Pushpa: The Rise’.
On Wednesday, the Panjagutta police arrested Jagdish for allegedly taking the pictures of a junior artist and later threatening the artist to post the pictures on a social media platform.
Hyderabad police arrested Jagdish.
A woman who was a junior artist residing in the Panjagutta area died on November 29. This is a suicide case. After the investigation, the police learned that she committed suicide because of harassment by Jagdish.
On November 27, the woman was Jagdish, and he took pictures of her without her consent. After that, Jagdish started threatening her by saying that he would post pictures on social media platforms. The woman, deeply affected by this harassment, committed suicide.
A complete suicide case was registered at the Panjagutta police station. This case was under the charge of abetment to suicide. Jagdish was absconding after the suicide and registration of the case. He was later arrested on Wednesday and sent to judicial remand.
However, it is still not clear whether the shooting of the movie Pushpa 2 will be resumed or put to a halt after Jagdish got arrested.
How did everything start?
Jagdish and the female junior artist, 34 years old, became friends. They both started working on a film. Later, they began to have a live-in relationship. However, the couple soon broke up for some reason.
The woman, or the junior artist, started dating some other junior artists. Jagdish Prathap, who allegedly took the pictures, including videos of the female junior artist during an intimate moment with her new partner, was rapidly harassing the junior artist and blackmailing her.
According to the reports, the father of the woman sought the help of the police as Jagdish was harassing her daughter. Her father claimed that she took such a drastic step because of the harassment from Pushpa’s actor.
Meanwhile, the actor was arrested on December 6 under Section 306 of the IPC.
