The Kia Seltos is one of the most famous mid-size SUVs. In July 2023, it got a major upgrade that included a few styling tweaks, feature additions, and the latest engine option. The price of this new Kia Seltos starts at around Rs. 10.90 lakh and goes up to Rs. 20.30 lakh.
However, the Korean carmaker announced a reduction in its price of around Rs. 2000 on some variants of the Kia Seltos. This development came after around one month when the company had already hiked the prices of the car by around Rs. 30, 000. The reason behind this price deduction is the removal of Seltos’s key feature.
The key features removed from Kia Seltos
Kia has reduced the prices of some variants of its cars. They are 1.5 petrol MT HTX, 1.5 turbo-petrol iMT HTX+, 1.5-liter turbo-petrol DCT GTX+, 1.5-liter diesel AT GTX+(S), and some other variants by around Rs. 2000. The probable reason behind this price reduction is the deletion of one-touch up-/down functions from every power window in all these variants.
However, the prices of other Kia variants are unchanged. Earlier, the already-removed feature was available in every variant, be it the HTX+ trim or others. But after recent development, the one-touch up and down feature is only available in the top-spec X-line trim. Whereas, the other Kia variants have a one-touch up and down function only at the driver’s window.
There are many other features in the top-spec Seltos. It has twin 10.25-inch screens for instrumentation and infotainment. Also, it has wireless Android auto and even Apply CarPlay, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, ADAS, an 8-speaker Bose premium audio system, cruise control, and a lot more.
Also, the safety features of the Kia Seltos include around six standard airbags, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and ABS with EBD.
The engine power of the Kia Seltos and gearbox specifications
Seltos by Kia has three engine options. It has a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motor, and the last one is a 1.5-litre diesel mill. However, the 1.5-litre oil burner can get a 6-speed transmission option. The other engine, a 1.5-litre NA petrol mill, can be opted for with a 6-speed manual and even a CVT automatic gearbox. Whereas, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol mill can be paired with a 6-speed or even 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
