India head coach Dravid, along with his wife Vijeta, takes out some time on Friday to watch their son. The couple was spotted at the famous Wadeyar Ground in Mysore. In this stadium, Karnataka is going to take on Uttarakhand in the Cooch Behar Trophy.
On this Friday, Dravid and Vijeta were watching their son play for Karnataka in a tournament. Dravid is currently on a break after the World Cup. VVS Laxman is known to be the stand-in head coach of the T20I series. This series is against Australia, and Dravid is trying to spend some time with his loved ones after the World Cup.
Samit: Rahul Dravid’s son
Samit is known to be an all-rounder. He completed his five overs with a score of 0/11. This landed two maidens at stumps on the initial date. Uttarakhand was bowled for 232 on the second day in the initial over. Dheeraj Gowda finished with four wickets.
Whereas, Samit scored 55 against Himachal Pradesh, and Karnataka registered a total five-wicket victory against Himachal Pradesh. Against Delhi, Dravid’s son scored 51 off 122 deliveries.
Earlier, Dravid thanked BCCI as well as his family for allowing him to be far away from the Indian side during the hectic cricket season. Dravid’s tenure as the Indian team’s head coach expired when the ODI World Cup campaign ended. However, BCCI later extended his contract after having ‘productive’ discussions with Dravid.
Samit is Dravid’s elder son, and he has played for Karnataka during the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. Dravid’s younger son is Anvay, who was named the skipper of the Karnataka U-14 side.
In a statement, Dravid said, ‘I thank the BCCI along with the office bearers for showing trust in me, endorsing my vision, and offering support throughout. The demands for this role required time away from home, and I truly appreciate the sacrifices and support of my family.’
Rahul Dravid’s next assignment
The next assignment for Rahul Dravid as India’s coach is in South Africa. The batting legend is going to resume his responsibilities as a coach and is soon going to join the Indian team. India is going to play the hosts in three T20Is and ODIs, including two tests. Rahul Sharma is being phased out of T20Is, and Suryakumar Yadav is going to lead during T20Is. Whereas, KL Rahul is going to be the ODI captain throughout the tour.
