England beat India in the women’s T20 cricket match

The Indian women’s cricket team saw a 38-run defeat in the first match of the T20 three-match series. On Wednesday, the England and Indian women’s cricket teams played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

England was able to register an amazing 197/6 in their 20 overs. The England team batted first before defeating India by 159/6.

The Indian T20 captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, decided to bowl first after having an upper-hand toss win. The decision made by the captain was validated by Renuka Singh, who also delivered two bowls in the initial over.

The part played by the team members during the match 

Renuka Singh cast Sophia Dunkley on the fourth ball. This was before cleaning Alice for a duck in the next ball. However, Danni Wyatt and Nat Sciver Brunt rescued the people with a 138-run partnership involving the third wicket. This wicket was broken by spinner Saiker Ishaque during the 16th over.

Shreyanka Patil, who was India’s debutant, got a big wicket from England captain Heather during the 18th over. However, it was taken to the cleaners during the 20th over with the help of Amy Jones. She gave the England team the final win by scoring a total of 16 runs in the final over.

Shafali Verma played well, but with Smriti Mandhana at the other end, Shafali continued to play, which drove the Indian team to 53/2 by the powerplay end. Jemimah Rodrigues left cheaply, but the captain of the Indian team and Shafali Verma helped the team stay for longer with a 41-run partnership.

With the final 10 overs, the Indian team needed 116 runs. Kaur left in the 11th over while trying to stay. Richa Ghosh played well in the 42-run stand during the fourth wicket. But the required rate was 15 runs per over after she left in the 15th over. Even Shafali Verma left after losing the wicket in the 17th over.

The ending of the match 

The Indian team, the Asian Games champions, ended up short of 38 runs of England’s total. The second India vs. England women’s T20 match will happen on the same ground on Saturday.

The brief score of the Indian women vs. Englan women’s initial T20: England-W 197/6 in the 20 overs where players scored: Nat Sciver-Brunt 77, Dani Wyatt 75, Renuka Singh 3/27. They beat India-W by 159/6 in the 20 overs, where players scored Shafali Verma 52, the captain Harmanpreet 26, and Sophie Ecclestone 3/15 for a total of 38 runs.
